Witches Wood Tax District 's Mill Rate is 3.17 (FY 2020-2021)
The following information may be of interest or may be useful to you regarding your upcoming tax bill(s).
The July 1, 2020 bills are based on the October 1, 2019 Grand List.
If the total tax is under $100.00, the tax is due in July in one payment.
If the total tax due is over $100.00, the amount is divided into two equal payments due July 1st and January 1st.
Bills are sent only once a year, in July. No additional bills are sent in January for the second installment.
Bills come in three parts.; return the top part (Part A) with the July payment and the second part (Part B) with the January payment. Keep the bottom part (Part C) for your records.
Interest will be charged as follows:
First Payment: Payment is due July 1, 2020. Interest will be charged if payment is not postmarked October 1, 2020.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Governor Lamont’s Executive Orders FS, FW, and FX will extend the no-interest grace period for the July 1st payment for all taxpayers in the Town of Woodstock (except escrow accounts and non-qualified landlords) to October 1, 2020.
Second Payment: Payment is due January 1, 2021. Interest will be charged if payment is not postmarked by February 1, 2021.
Interest is calculated at 1 1/2% per month on the unpaid balance. To calculate August interest, use 3%; September interest, use 4 1/2%; October interest, use 6%, etc.
Witches Woods Tax District does not levy a property tax on Motor Vehicles.
The Witches Woods Tax District real property tax bill is in addition to the tax bill from the Town of Woodstock.
