Witches Woods Tax District Board of Directors and Flood and Erosion Control Board Meeting May 12th, 2010 Members present: Ken Braithwaite, Glen Humes, Eric Werstler, Margaret Houlihan, Cliff Moon and Rande Chmura, Ron Zavarella, Karen Marshall and Tom Pandolfi. Absent: Others Present: Fred Chmura. Clerks Report: A motion was made by Tom Pandolfi and seconded by Rande Chmura to accept the minutes from the April 8th meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. Health, fire and safety: Speed bumps will be installed at the "T". State police are patrolling the area. Old Stone Road will be blocked with big stones to prevent use by ATV's. No parking, no fishing signs will be installed at the end of Crooked Trail. Installation of a fence and No Swimming sign at the outflow will be investigated. Estimates for a contractor to do the work or clean-up day task will be obtained. Clearing the boat launch area of brush was discussed. Although it may deter loitering, clearing may increase the number of outsiders fishing at the lake. No action will be taken at this time. Lake, Dam and Beach: Eric Werstler reported that he is seeking quotes for dam mowing. He estimates 2 or 3 mowings per year at $1200 each. J & A contracting is completing work behind the dam at Koviciny Beach. JG lawn care will clean-up Hutengs Beach. Roads: Tom Pandolfi reported that the roads have been graded. Special consideration will be given to the problem areas. Next year, 4 loads of gravel will be needed for road maintenance. Spring grading costs were $2695. The Crooked Trail drainage project has been completed. Our attorney will be instructed to send notice to ATV owners that they are not allowed on district roads. Zoning: Margaret Houlihan reported that no new permits were issued by the town of Woodstock. Other Business: The following slate will be presented at the annual meeting: President - Glen Humes VP - Jack Gibbs Treas. - Rande Chmura Clerk - Cliff Moon Eric Werstler, Margaret Houlihan, Ron Zavarella, Karen Marshall and Tom Pandolfi Treasurer's Report: Rande Chmura reviewed the April financial report. Fred Chmura led the discussion of the 2010-2011 proposed annual budgets. A motion was made, seconded and approved to present an annual operating budget of $76,373 and a capital improvement budget of $37,993.48 for voter approval at the annual meeting.
